I took a few days off between Christmas and the New Year and the moment presented itself. Here I was, sitting at my desk, with the keyboard and the microphone in front of me and lots of juices flowing. The stars aligned and I made “Close” in one afternoon.
I had been reflecting on becoming perpetual, creating more and releasing more of what I make. The lyrics of this song are tightly connected to the cyclical nature of life: getting to the end of a year, starting another. I felt pure joy, it was fun.
